Basically, the facelift is the most effective method of facelifting. Here we will explain the differences between a standard and mini facelift.
The mini facelift is a medium facelift in which the cheek area and jawline are tightened.
The effect on neck sagging and the temples is minimal.
We perform the mini facelift on patients with facial skin sagging that is still in the early or middle stages. This means that patients are somewhat younger.

Mini facelift at the Yuveo Clinic
In contrast to a normal facelift, a mini facelift requires slightly fewer scars.
We will have to decide together whether the slightly less extensive procedure and the slightly shorter scar are suitable for the facelift you want.
The cut
In contrast to major surgery, the incision for a mini facelift is somewhat more discreet. Our Yuveo team in Düsseldorf proceeds in such a way that we can dispense with the incision that runs into the hairy area at the back of the head. The incision also ends early in the direction of the temples – at the base of the ear.
Facelift for men
We have described the special features for men in the overview article Facelifting.
The mini facelift is also only secondarily a skin tightening procedure.
The mini facelift is not just a tightening of the facial skin. The mini facelift also focuses on tightening the SMAS (see explanation of facelift) and is responsible for a good and, above all, long-lasting result.
However, due to the slightly smaller facial area and the shorter incision lines, the tightening success in the neck area is significantly lower than with a conventional facelift.
Frequently asked questions about the mini facelift
What happens after the operation?
In the first few days, frequent cooling leads to less swelling and accelerates wound healing.
An elevated position of the head when sleeping is recommended after the mini facelift for the same reason.
Strong facial expressions and other mechanical stress on the surgical area should be kept to a minimum, especially during the first week.
One week after the operation, the fine stitches in front of the ear are removed. The sutures behind the ears are only removed after 2 weeks.
How high are the facelift costs?
Facelift prices can vary greatly from doctor to doctor. They depend on several things:
- Scope of the facelift operation
- Length of stay in the clinic
- Prices for anesthesia
- Fee of the plastic surgeon
Prices for a mini facelift
The costs for a mini facelift are lower than for a normal facelift due to the smaller extent of the operation.
In addition to the lift, the cost of general anesthesia is added. For some plastic surgeons, prices are added for the hospital stay.
If the mini facelift is performed under local anesthesia with twilight sleep (sedation), the prices are slightly reduced. Twilight sedation costs on average 50 to 60 % less than general anesthesia.
