The Brazilian buttock lift is a buttock correction with autologous fat. This makes it clear that extremely slim women are unlikely to benefit from this method, as the autologous fat to be transplanted must be from the patient’s own body.
We can increase the volume of our patients’ buttocks with the help of butt implants if they have very little fat of their own but still want a butt augmentation.
In principle, our team of plastic surgeons in Düsseldorf proceeds in the same way as for liposuction. With the Brazilian butt lift, the fat is also suctioned out after infiltration of a so-called tumescent solution (contains, among other things, a local anesthetic) and a certain exposure time. This is followed by filtration. This allows us to separate components such as blood, infiltration solution and saline solution and separate the pure fat.
Our plastic surgeons then inject this autologous fat into the areas to be augmented using special syringes and cannulas. A special technique for injecting into the buttocks is important here in order to maximize the rate of application.
Targeted liposuction around the buttocks alone can significantly improve the contour. This would be the minimum variant of a butt correction. In Düsseldorf, we typically try to improve the shape of the buttocks during liposuction with the Brazilian butt lift and can then achieve the main effect with injections.
It would therefore be rather unfavorable, for example, to only suction the abdomen or arms, as this additional contouring, which is important for the Brazilian butt lift, would not be possible.
As described above, we at the Yuveo Clinic in Düsseldorf make sure to use a special technique when injecting the processed fat. If, for example, a large amount is injected into a small area, the internal fat grafts cannot be nourished and disintegrate. This means a significantly poorer application rate and a poorer result.
The rate at which the fat is injected depends on how much fat is injected and how we inject it. The aftercare and your own behavior after the operation also have an influence on this. To summarize, we can assume a rate of 40 to 70 %.
If not enough cells have healed during the Brazilian Butt Lift, we can perform the butt surgery to achieve more volume. The prerequisite here is again the presence of sufficient fatty tissue.
If we have already removed everything or almost everything in the first session at our clinic in Düsseldorf, there is nothing left for a repeat treatment.
Therefore, if several procedures are planned, we make sure that only as much fat is removed as is needed for the injection.
Frequently asked questions about the Brazilian Butt Lift
Can the Brazilian butt lift be combined with a butt augmentation with implants?
Yes, this is possible. It can make sense if you have your own fat, but not enough.
In such cases, our Düsseldorf team of plastic surgeons can, buttock implants into the large gluteal muscle and build up the overlying fat layer with the patient’s own fat, which can be harvested elsewhere.
If you combine them with butt implants, you can expect higher costs.
Can the autologous fat obtained be used, e.g. for the breast?
Theoretically yes – but practically no! In principle, the harvested fat can be injected into the breast as part of a breast augmentation with autologous fat. However, this does not apply if you are lying or sitting on the injected areas, as it is important not to compress the transplanted areas too much to ensure good healing.
However, as you are not allowed to lie on your stomach or back for the combination butt lift and breast injections, we cannot perform these procedures at the same time.
Can the procedure be repeated if there is a desire to further increase the volume?
If the desired result does not meet your expectations and your own fat is still available, we can repeat the butt surgery at our clinic in Düsseldorf.
Ingeneral, with autologous fat injections, the procedure may have to be repeated in order to achieve the desired result.
If we assume from the outset that 2 to 3 operations may be necessary, then we are careful with liposuction so as not to reduce the donor area unnecessarily.
If an extremely large amount is injected into a small area in the first session, the fat cells inside the injection area will not find a connection to the vascular system and will sink. This can lead to oil cysts, hardening and scarring pain on the buttocks.
When performing a butt augmentation with autologous fat, our plastic surgeons generally have to follow many details in order to ensure the highest possible healing rate on the buttocks.
How does our Düsseldorf team go about aftercare?
The aftercare for a Brazilian butt lift is similar to that after a butt augmentation with butt implants.
- The stitches can be removed after just one week due to the small incisions.
- The pain therapy after the Brazilian butt lift depends on the individual complaints and also on the injection technique. If we only inject very superficially, severe pain is not to be expected.
- Our Düsseldorf team recommends that you take it easy physically for a few weeks.
- Postoperatively, you should wear a corset that includes the suctioned areas.
- You should avoid applying pressure to the areas injected with autologous fat. Particularly in the first 7 to 10 days, the fat could still move and end up in areas that should not experience an increase in volume.
How much does the Buttock Lift cost?
The cost of the operation depends primarily on the extent of the procedure. Different colleagues also calculate different prices.
The minimum variant
… is most likely to apply to slim patients who do not have enough fat. In such cases, the operation can only be performed partially, which reduces the costs. For example, in Düsseldorf we can liposuction the problem area of the hips in an otherwise slim woman and process, filter and distribute the fat obtained in the buttocks. If only small amounts of fat can be extracted here, the effort involved is less. For example, in such cases we do not have to turn the patient intraoperatively, which significantly reduces the workload and shortens operating times. Furthermore, such smaller procedures do not require inpatient monitoring.
The standard version of the Brazilian Butt Lift
… consists of liposuctioning fat from the back, hips, buttocks and possibly the abdomen and using this for transplantation. To do this, we have to turn the patient intraoperatively, liposuction is more complex and therefore more expensive. An inpatient stay is necessary.
OP with additional expense
If more needs to be done, it will be more expensive. If, for example, other regions are to be liposuctioned, such as legs, arms or the ankles, or if the small amount of fat is not sufficient and additional buttock implants are required, the cost may be significantly higher.
The fat gained can also be simultaneously placed in other regions to shape the thighs or fill a hollow above the riding trousers.
In such cases, there are additional costs for the increased effort and further expenses for additional materials such as implants or corsetry.
It is difficult to say what prices can be expected here.
