Goretex threads for lip augmentation
Lip augmentation by implanting Goretex threads is currently no longer possible, as these threads are no longer sold.
The non-self-dissolving material led to a permanently visible result, but in some cases led to scarring problems. Hyaluronic acid, which only lasts for 1 year but is extremely safe, has replaced Goretex threads in Germany.
Lip implant
Another unusual technique, which for various reasons is hardly ever practiced in Germany, is lip correction with a silicone lip implant. Few doctors abroad offer this.
The lip implant is smooth and elongated in a spindle shape. It is inserted into the lip through a few incisions. The puncture sites are closed with a fine suture. As encapsulation and hardening can occur here (sometimes only after years), this operation is rarely practiced.
