
Terminology:
The word augmentation (= enlargement, build-up; verb = to augment) comes from the Latin word augmen, which means to increase. This generally refers to all operations (not only in plastic surgery) in which tissue or body parts are built up in some way.
Examples of augmentations:
- Augmentation plastic surgery: ‘plastik’ (Greek for malleable): In principle, this refers to all procedures to fill defects (accidents, malignant tumors, …) or to build up (or enlarge) areas of the body:

- Chin
- Cheeks
- Calves
- Po
