I incision – for breast reduction or breast lift

What is an I-cut?

The I incision is a special surgical procedure for breast reduction or breast lift.

This is a low-scar surgical procedure. In contrast to the T-incision, there is no horizontal incision in the underbust crease.

Scars only form around the areola and from here vertically towards the underbust crease.

The vertical excess skin must not be too large, as the skin is to be shrunk by means of shirring and undermining.

This surgical technique is therefore indicated for at most moderate breast reductions and for light to moderate breast lifts.

In the case of extreme findings, postoperative correction in the sense of removal of the residual excess skin is inevitable after this surgical technique.
