This is possible due to the slackening of the fibrous tissue. The fatty tissue tends to fill with water (edema) when lying down and leads to <strong>swelling<\/strong> of the drooping eyelids, especially in the morning.  <\/p><h3>The lacrimal gland<\/h3><p>In rare cases, it can protrude and slide downwards due to sagging connective tissue.
