{"id":39928,"date":"2021-04-06T19:16:55","date_gmt":"2021-04-06T17:16:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dev.yuveo.eu\/lexikon\/tennis-elbow-in-combination-with-supinator-lodge-syndrome\/"},"modified":"2025-08-29T13:48:03","modified_gmt":"2025-08-29T11:48:03","slug":"tennis-elbow-in-combination-with-supinator-lodge-syndrome","status":"publish","type":"encyclopedia","link":"https:\/\/www.yuveo.de\/en\/lexikon\/tennis-elbow-in-combination-with-supinator-lodge-syndrome\/","title":{"rendered":"Tennis elbow in combination with supinator lodge syndrome"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Before we operate on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.yuveo.de\/en\/hand\/tennis-elbow\/\">tennis elbow<\/a>, we first rule out so-called <strong>supinator elbow syndrome<\/strong>, as this can occur together with it in some cases.<\/p>\n<p>Supinator ligament syndrome (SLS) is the result of a constriction of a motor branch (posterior interosseous nerve) of the radial <strong>nerve<\/strong> (radial nerve) at a muscle arcade (of the supinator muscle).<\/p>\n<p>The disease can lead to symptoms <strong>similar<\/strong> to those <strong>of tennis elbow<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>However, the main pain localization is further away from the body and more towards the middle. The hand surgeon can trigger pain here by applying pressure. If the constriction is severe, <strong>extension in the wrist is impaired<\/strong>.  <\/p>\n<p>If the forearm is turned outwards or the middle finger is stretched against resistance, we can provoke pain.<\/p>\n<p>If the hand surgery examination reveals severe SLS, surgery to <strong>relieve (decompress) the nerve<\/strong> should be considered if conservative treatment fails.<\/p>\n<h2>Combination surgery for tennis elbow<\/h2>\n<p>This procedure can also be<strong> combined<\/strong> well with surgery for tennis elbow.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Before we operate on tennis elbow, we first rule out so-called supinator elbow syndrome, as this can occur together with it in some cases.
