It is usually well encapsulated and is most commonly found in the subcutaneous fatty tissue (abdomen, back, arms, legs, neck, head). <\/p>\n<p>The lipoma also occurs in the muscles, in the chest (in the mediastinum = middle pleura, in the chest cavity between the two lungs) and in the abdominal cavity. Organs can also be affected. <\/p>\n<p>In principle, it can develop anywhere where there is fatty tissue.
