With <strong>age<\/strong> or after significant <strong>weight loss<\/strong>, the cheek tissue falls and thus reinforces the wrinkle. <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2><a id=\"anchor53579bc\"><\/a>Prevention of nasolabial folds<\/h2>\n<p>Even without medical measures, forehead wrinkles can be counteracted to a certain extent:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Avoid extreme weight loss or weight fluctuations.<\/li>\n<li>Skin care with skin creams (daily)<\/li>\n<li>Avoid strong sunlight: The sun damages the skin and leads to premature skin ageing.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><a id=\"anchor53589f2\"><\/a>Nasolabial fold treatment with Btx<sup>?<\/sup><\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.yuveo.de\/en\/folds\/btx-muscle-relaxer\/\">Btx<\/a> is <strong>not<\/strong> a sensible alternative treatment for nasolabial folds. If Btx <sup>  important neighboring facial muscles would also be paralyzed. The movement of the upper lips and the lifting of the corners of the mouth would be impaired or suspended. <\/sup><\/p>\n<h2><a id=\"anchor53598c0\"><\/a>Correction with fillers (e.g. hyaluronic acid) &#8211; Wrinkle injections<\/h2>\n<p>Nasolabial folds are a classic indication for filling materials such as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.yuveo.de\/en\/folds\/wrinkle-treatment-with-hyaluronic-acid\/\">hyaluronic acid<\/a>. Under local anesthesia or with the help of anesthetic creams, wrinkle injections can be made more comfortable. The nasolabial fold is filled with hyaluronic acid to smooth it out. The effect lasts for approx. 9 months. After that, wrinkle injections can be repeated.    <\/p>\n<h2><a id=\"anchor535a9b1\"><\/a>Facelift<\/h2>\n<p>As part of a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.yuveo.de\/en\/lexikon\/facelift-face-lift\/\">facelift<\/a>, the cheek skin is pulled towards the temple\/ear. This also reduces the depth of the nasolabial fold. <\/p>\n<h3><a id=\"anchor535bc18\"><\/a>Excision of the nasolabial folds<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Excision of the nasolabial folds<\/strong> is also a proven procedure that can be used in special cases. In cases of coarse-pored skin and deep wrinkles, correction by means of wrinkle injections is often frustrating. The nasolabial fold is cut out and the edges of the wound are then meticulously sutured.
