However, he was not the first to describe this deformity, but was the first to perform an <strong>operation<\/strong> for this condition &#8211; back in <strong>1831<\/strong>. <\/p>\n<p>The first descriptions of a <strong>curvature of the fingers<\/strong>, which correspond to today&#8217;s term, can be traced back to the Basel anatomist <strong>Felix Platter<\/strong> in <strong>1614<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The first mention of it may date back to the <strong>12th century<\/strong>.
