In the center you can see an ulceration (= open area, ulcer) with a bloody crust and the typical border, also known as <strong>the pearl cord border.<\/strong>  <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"basaliomefotos-cont\">\n<div class=\"basaliomefotos-box\">\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/www.yuveo.de\/bilder\/basaliome\/basaliom-nase.jpg\" alt=\"Basal cell carcinoma on the roof of the nose\" width=\"130\" height=\"109\"><\/p>\n<p>This is a large <strong>nodular<\/strong> <strong>basal cell carcinoma<\/strong> with a blood crust on the lateral nasal roof.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"basaliomefotos-cont\">\n<div class=\"basaliomefotos-box\">\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/www.yuveo.de\/bilder\/basaliome\/basaliom-nasolabialfalte.jpg\" alt=\"basal cell carcinoma in the nasolabial fold\" width=\"130\" height=\"185\"><\/p>\n<p>The small <strong>blood vessel dilatations<\/strong> on the nodular change in this image are also typical of diene cancer.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"basaliomefotos-cont\">\n<div class=\"basaliomefotos-box\">\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/www.yuveo.de\/bilder\/basaliome\/basaliom-lippe.jpg\" alt=\"Basal cell carcinoma on the upper lip\" width=\"130\" height=\"84\"><\/p>\n<p>Small vascular dilatations and a crust are also visible here. On closer inspection, it is clear that the crust only makes up a quarter of the skin cancer. The basal cell carcinoma extends down to the middle of the upper lip.  <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"basaliomefotos-cont\">\n<div class=\"basaliomefotos-box\">\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/www.yuveo.de\/bilder\/basaliome\/basaliom-nasenspitze.jpg\" alt=\"Basal cell carcinoma on the tip of the nose\" width=\"130\" height=\"101\"><\/p>\n<p>The light-colored skin cancer on the <strong>tip of the nose<\/strong> is in an unfavorable position for wound closure. However, a skin graft can be used here. Even in this picture, the crust only makes up part of the pathological change.  <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"basaliomefotos-cont\">\n<div class=\"basaliomefotos-box\">\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/www.yuveo.de\/bilder\/basaliome\/basaliom-ohr.jpg\" alt=\"Basal cell carcinoma in front of the ear with incision margin marking including safety distance\" width=\"130\" height=\"192\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/www.yuveo.de\/bilder\/basaliome\/basaliom-defektverschluss.jpg\" alt=\"Defect closure after basal cell carcinoma removal\"><\/p>\n<p>This skin cancer is also a basal cell carcinoma. The marking shows a safety distance of 4 mm as seen with magnifying glasses. <\/p>\n<p><strong>Right:<\/strong> After removal of the basal cell carcinoma, the defect was closed by detaching the skin (= stretch plasty) and moving it in a horizontal direction.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"basaliomefotos-cont\">\n<div class=\"basaliomefotos-box\">\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/www.yuveo.de\/bilder\/basaliome\/basaliom-lid.jpg\" alt=\"Basal cell carcinoma at the edge of the lower eyelid\" width=\"130\" height=\"111\"><\/p>\n<p>This case is somewhat more &#8216;insidious&#8217; than those described above. It is simply a <strong>red spot<\/strong> about 3 mm wide with a discreet indentation. You can see it in the center at the lower edge of the eyelid.  <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"basaliomefotos-cont\">\n<div class=\"basaliomefotos-box\">\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/www.yuveo.de\/bilder\/basaliome\/basaliom-nase-02.jpg\" alt=\"Small basal cell carcinoma on the lateral roof of the nose\"><\/p>\n<p>Another basal cell carcinoma on the <strong>lateral bridge of the nose<\/strong>. The patient initially noticed scaling and redness here, as with eczema. However, the change did not disappear and slowly became larger.  <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"basaliomefotos-cont\">\n<div class=\"basaliomefotos-box\">\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/www.yuveo.de\/bilder\/basaliome\/basaliom-nasenruecken.jpg\" alt=\"Basal cell carcinoma on the lateral bridge of the nose\" width=\"130\" height=\"156\"><\/p>\n<p>This is a similar-looking white skin cancer to the one described above, but much larger.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"basaliomefotos-cont\">\n<div class=\"basaliomefotos-box\">\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/www.yuveo.de\/bilder\/basaliome\/basalzellkarzinom-nasolabialfalte.jpg\" alt=\"Nodular basal cell carcinoma in the nasolabial fold\" width=\"130\" height=\"174\"><\/p>\n<p>A nodular basal cell carcinoma in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.yuveo.de\/en\/lexikon\/nasolabial-folds\/\">nasolabial fold<\/a>. With this size and localization, the basal cell carcinoma can be easily removed. The scar is then barely visible in the nasolabial fold.  <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"basaliomefotos-cont\">\n<div class=\"basaliomefotos-box\">\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/www.yuveo.de\/bilder\/basaliome\/basalzellkarzinom-ohr.jpg\" alt=\"Large basal cell carcinoma on the ear\" width=\"130\" height=\"195\"><\/p>\n<p>Here you can see a basal cell carcinoma that has already affected 1\/3 of the <strong>auricle<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"basaliomefotos-cont\">\n<div class=\"basaliomefotos-box\">\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/www.yuveo.de\/bilder\/basaliome\/basaliom-ohrlaeppchen.jpg\" alt=\"Basal cell carcinoma on the earlobe\" width=\"130\" height=\"160\"><\/p>\n<p>This skin cancer appears quite small. On closer inspection, however, a slightly lighter border around the encrustation is noticeable. This brightening is also part of the cancer.  <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"basaliomefotos-cont\">\n<div class=\"basaliomefotos-box\">\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/www.yuveo.de\/bilder\/basaliome\/basaliom-sklerodermiform.jpg\" alt=\"sclerodermiform basal cell carcinoma of the head\" width=\"130\" height=\"115\"><\/p>\n<p>The patient complained of an eczema-like change that repeatedly flaked. After scratching, bleeding and crusting occurred. This was also a basal cell carcinoma.  <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"basaliomefotos-cont\">\n<div class=\"basaliomefotos-box\">\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/www.yuveo.de\/bilder\/basaliome\/basaliom-strahlenulcus.jpg\" alt=\"Radiation ulcer after irradiation of a basal cell carcinoma\" width=\"130\" height=\"90\"><\/p>\n<p>Many years ago, an elderly patient had a basal cell carcinoma (very rare on the sole of the foot) irradiated. The radiation damage has now led to the death of the surrounding tissue down to the flexor tendons of the foot. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"basaliomefotos-cont\">\n<div class=\"basaliomefotos-box\">\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/www.yuveo.de\/bilder\/basaliome\/basaliom-wange.jpg\" alt=\"sclerodermiform basal cell carcinoma on the cheek\" width=\"130\" height=\"141\"><\/p>\n<p>This relatively poorly identifiable structure in the middle of the picture is also a white skin cancer. It is almost as large as the nostril visible in the picture. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"basaliomefotos-cont\">\n<div class=\"basaliomefotos-box\">\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/www.yuveo.de\/bilder\/basaliome\/basalzelkarzinom-schlaefe.jpg\" alt=\"Basal cell carcinoma on the sleep\" width=\"130\" height=\"123\"><\/p>\n<p>This basal cell carcinoma on the temple is only noticeable due to an irregularly reddened area.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"basaliomefotos-cont\">\n<div class=\"basaliomefotos-box\">\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/www.yuveo.de\/bilder\/basaliome\/basaliomrezidiv.jpg\" alt=\"Basal cell carcinoma recurrence on the temple\" width=\"130\" height=\"93\"><\/p>\n<p>This is a relapse. The white area is the scar left after the operation about 3 years ago. The slight redness on the lower and right edges corresponds to the basal cell carcinoma that has grown again.  <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"basaliomefotos-cont\">\n<div class=\"basaliomefotos-box\">\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/www.yuveo.de\/bilder\/basaliome\/basalzellkarzinom-wange.jpg\" alt=\"Basal cell carcinoma of the cheek\" width=\"130\" height=\"162\"><\/p>\n<p>Another basal cell carcinoma with crusting and rim on the cheek.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"basaliomefotos-cont\">\n<div class=\"basaliomefotos-box\">\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/www.yuveo.de\/bilder\/basaliome\/pigmentiertes-basaliom.jpg\" alt=\"pigmented basal cell carcinoma\" width=\"130\" height=\"131\"><\/p>\n<p>Is this a basal cell carcinoma?<\/p>\n<p>Yes, it can also look like this. It is a rare <strong>pigmented<\/strong> basal cell carcinoma, which can easily be mistaken for a mole.
