However, there are indications that the hormonal situation of patients plays a role. <strong>Oestrogen levels<\/strong> (oestrogen = female sex hormone) are subject to fluctuations, for example during pregnancy the picture is different to that during the menopause or puberty.  <\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, there is sometimes a familial clustering, which indicates an <strong>inherited<\/strong> predisposition in some patients.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, severe psychological or physical <strong>stress situations<\/strong> can contribute to the development of lipoedema.<\/p>\n<p>Certain<strong> vascular diseases<\/strong> in the subcutaneous tissue are also known causes.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The causes of lipoedema have not yet been conclusively clarified.
