Frequently asked questions about plastic aesthetic treatment without surgery
Can hyaluronic acid be used as a filler for lip contouring?
Hyaluronic acid is still the most commonly used filler for lip augmentation.
Our Yuveo team is able to perform lip contouring without significantly changing the size, i.e. the volume (lip augmentation). Of course, we can also enlarge the lips.
If you are not satisfied with the result, it can be reversed, which is not possible with other materials.
What should you know about hyaluronic acid?
Hyaluronic acid belongs to the glycosaminoglycans and is an important component of the basic substance (also known as cement substance) of the body, which is found in the intercellular spaces.
Hyaluronic acid for wrinkle injections or lip injections is manufactured in the laboratory and produced by bacteria.
It is sterile and has a longer shelf life than non-cross-linked molecules due to its cross-linking.
Why are you switching from Macrolane to Aquafilling?
A highly cross-linked form of hyaluronic acid was Macrolane, which could be used for body contouring.
This could be used to correct the calf and the like.
It is no longer approved for breast augmentation without surgery.
The production of Macrolane has been discontinued since 2017.
As an alternative, you can now consider aquafilling, which takes considerably longer to work than Macrolane.
Bttx. relaxes the muscles without surgery.
The active ingredient of the muscle relaxant, popularly known as Btx. is called Bttx. A. It has been used for many years in very high quantities in neurology, e.g. for spastic paralysis, to relieve cramps.
At Plastic Surgery Düsseldorf, we mostly use Btx. to reduce mimic wrinkles.
The treatment is therefore usually applied to frown lines, forehead wrinkles and crow’s feet.
