A forehead lift is the ideal treatment option for correcting severe wrinkles on the forehead and lifting deep-set eyebrows. This is especially true when wrinkle injections(Btx, filler) are hardly effective!
At the Yueveo Clinic Düsseldorf, we can smooth out transverse forehead wrinkles with a forehead lift.
It is also possible to lift eyebrows that have sunk too low. This usually at least leads to a reduction in drooping eyelids.
A major advantage of the forehead lift is its long durability compared to the Btx treatment. Unfortunately, the latter only has an approximate duration of action of 3-6 months.

Special features of the forehead lift
The forehead lift is very rarely performed on men. The reason is obvious. The expected baldness can hardly be estimated!

Forehead lift - surgery for men?
Surgical methods for forehead lifts
At the Yuveo Clinic Düsseldorf, we can perform a forehead lift, like a facelift, under local anesthesia with twilight sleep or under general anesthesia.
An outpatient procedure is possible in principle. However, an inpatient stay of at least one night for monitoring is safer.
Before the forehead lift, the hair and ears should be washed thoroughly to reduce the number of germs before the operation.
Here we will discuss the conventional forehead lift. The endoscopic forehead lift has the advantage of barely visible, smaller incisions in the hairy area and faster wound healing. However, the tightening effect on the skin is less pronounced as the excess skin cannot be removed.
Forehead lift with incision in the hairy area
In a forehead lift, we make the incision a few centimetres above the hairline if the forehead has a low hairline.
Our plastic surgeons then detach a firm layer of fibers, called galea, from the periosteum and dissect it towards the root of the nose. Here we can also remove two muscles that are the cause of the horizontal and transverse frown lines.
In a forehead lift, we take particular care not to tighten the skin too much, but rather the deeper, firm fibrous layer (galea). This allows us to suture the skin at the end without tension after the excess skin in the hairy area has been removed.
We also thin out the forehead muscle to weaken it. We do this gently in order to protect two nerves that supply the forehead with skin sensation.
Forehead lift with incision at the hairline
In the case of a high hairline, the incision for a forehead lift should be made at the hairline. In this way, the forehead does not appear even larger after the lift.
The fine scar is barely visible at the hairline. This is particularly true if the incision is W-shaped. Otherwise, we proceed as described above.
Frequently asked questions about forehead lifts
What should be considered for an upper eyelid lift that is to be followed by a forehead lift?
If a forehead lift is to be performed after an upper eyelid lift, we must ensure that the eyebrows are not pulled too hard.
If the eyelids are raised excessively, an eyelid closure disorder could occur.
Our Yuveo-tem Düsselorf therefore recommends: If an upper eyelid lift and a forehead lift are planned, it makes more sense to perform the forehead lift before the eyelid correction.
Small upper eyelid sagging can disappear as a result.
What is there to say about Btx and forehead lift?
Today, forehead wrinkles are usually treated with Bttx A(Btx) without a surgical forehead lift. At low doses, our Yuveo team usually achieves adequate smoothing of the forehead.
However, if the wrinkles are already very deep and possibly scarred, the Btx can no longer smooth them out sufficiently.
If a higher dose of the poison is used, there is often a risk of the eyebrows drooping due to the stronger blockage of the forehead muscle, so that in such cases a surgical forehead lift can be considered.
Is a forehead lift for men an option?
The forehead lift is very rarely performed on men. The reason is obvious: the expected baldness is difficult to estimate and therefore the later position of the scar.
For men who are not afraid of a hair transplant in the future, the latter is not an argument against a forehead lift.
Overall, however, forehead lift surgery is rarely performed on men.
What does the aftercare for a forehead lift at the Yuveo Clinic Düsseldorf look like?
In the first few days after a forehead lift, frequent cooling leads to less swelling and accelerates wound healing.
An elevated position of the head when sleeping is recommended after the forehead lift for the same reason.
Strong facial expressions in the forehead area and other mechanical stress should be avoided, especially in the first week.
The fine stitches are removed one week after the operation.
Numbness may occur above the incision line. However, this is usually of a temporary nature.
Hair loss may also occur below the incision line, which is usually also temporary.
