Snap test before lower eyelid lift

Before the lower eyelid lift, we can check the lower eyelid tension with the so-called snapping test.

This involves pulling the lower eyelid with the thumb and index finger and then suddenly releasing it. If you hear a loud snapping sound, you can assume that the lower eyelid is tight.

If this sound is completely absent, there is a risk of a drooping lower eyelid(ectropion) if the lower eyelid is corrected too radically.

It is important to take the existing eyelid skin tension into account during the procedure.
