Open or closed rhinoplasty?

The advantage of a closed procedure is that it leaves no externally visible scars. Our plastic surgeons at Yuveo Düsseldorf decide when a closed or open rhinoplasty is advantageous.

In many cases, nasal hump removal can be performed using the closed technique without any problems. However, if a more complex correction is required on the tip of the nose or the cartilaginous nasal roof, open rhinoplasty is advantageous due to the better overview.

This comes at the cost of a small scar on the bridge of the nose, which our plastic surgeons in Düsseldorf design in such a way that it is barely visible even at close range. For asymmetrical, wide and high nasal tips and for previously operated noses, the open variant is the safer choice.
