As fat deposits in the hip area are extremely difficult to eliminate with diet and exercise, liposuction of the hips is helpful.
Many women and men are bothered by the fat deposits on their hips, which in layman’s terms are often referred to as ‘love handles’.
Even in slim people, hip fat can have a clearly negative effect on the overall figure and can often only be eliminated very inadequately with diets and exercise.
Particularly when it comes to slim people, the pressure of suffering can be great precisely because of the otherwise normal figure. The desire for liposuction of the hips promises a quick correction with little effort.
Liposuction in this area is one of the standard procedures in plastic surgery.
If the fat pads on the hips are residual fat deposits after significant weight loss, the plastic surgeon must assess the expected excess skin before starting liposuction.
Only after extreme weight loss can a disturbing excess of skin be expected, which may have to be surgically removed.
How is liposuction performed on the hips?
We mark the area before liposuction. Most plastic surgeons recommend twilight sleep or general anesthesia as anesthesia, because the painful areas are often difficult to anesthetize completely with the permitted amounts of anesthetic.
In the supine and / or lateral position, the fluid is first infiltrated into the hip via the punctures (2 are usually sufficient), which causes the fat cells to swell and reduces the bleeding.
Liposuction can begin after the exposure time has elapsed. At the end of the operation, we sew up the stitches with a thin thread. It is important to put on the compression pants immediately after liposuction.
Post-treatment of liposuction on the hips
After liposuction for hip correction, we at Yuveo recommend post-operative compression therapy (compression pants or compression bandage) and rest from exercise for approx. 6 weeks. All activities that move the torso and abdomen should be avoided.
Painkillers and decongestants are particularly beneficial in the first few days. If the puncture sites are sutured, the stitches can generally be removed after approx. 1 week.
