What is a lip lift?
A lip lift, also known as a lip lift, is a surgical lip correction. Indirect lip lifting, also known as bullhorn excision or bullhorn surgery, can be distinguished from direct lifting.
The aim of both operations is to reduce the distance between the upper lip margin and the base of the nose, as this leaves a more youthful, fresher expression.
At the same time, more lip red appears on the upper lip, which enlarges it. Both techniques therefore involve lip augmentation and upper lip lifting.
In an indirect lip lift, the lip is corrected by removing skin at the base of the nose. In the direct variant, skin is removed directly from the edge of the upper lip to achieve the lip correction. This allows the shape of the lips to be changed at the same time.
The advantage of these operations is that they are permanent. Unlike lip correction with hyaluronic acid, it is not necessary to re-treat after 1 to 2 years. The long-term costs are therefore significantly lower.
What is the procedure for this operation?
The procedure for a direct lip lift is similar to that for a bullhorn excision. You should not take any blood thinners before the operation. The operation can be performed on an outpatient basis under local anesthesia, twilight sleep or general anesthesia.
Local anesthesia is only recommended for the hard-boiled due to the painful anesthetic.
After the operation, a great deal of care is required to ensure that the scars heal inconspicuously and fade quickly.
What are the alternatives to a direct lip lift?
There are alternatives to this procedure. With the exception of bullhorn surgery, however, all others have only a temporary effect and the treatments have to be repeated:
