As part of his training, Dr. Schumann (*1971) passed through various departments in hand surgery, general and trauma surgery and cardiothoracic and vascular surgery in addition to the specialist departments for plastic surgery.
This wealth of experience continues to enrich his plastic surgery and hand surgery work to this day.
Dr. Schumann has been working as a plastic surgeon and hand surgeon in private practice and private clinics since the end of 2006.

Dr. Schumann is a member of the German Society of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons (DGPRÄC, formerly the Association of German Plastic Surgeons: VDPC).
The specialist title was acquired in Germany.
Dr. Schumann is a member of the North Rhine Medical Association and is therefore subject to the corresponding professional regulations.
He completed his studies at the Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf at the beginning of 1999 and then began his training as a plastic surgeon in the Clinic for Plastic Surgery at the Florence Nightingale Hospital, Diakonie Düsseldorf/ Kaiserswerth under the head physician Prof. Dr. R. R. Olbisch (plastic surgeon). During this time, Dr. Schumann also completed the dissertation he began during his studies with the topic: “Comparative immunohistochemical investigation of T-cell and macrophage infiltration of symptomatic and asymptomatic stenoses of the internal carotid artery.”

In the subsequent interval(from mid-2001), he worked in the Clinic for Cardiac, Thoracic and Vascular Surgery under Prof. Dr. M.-J. Polonius (Dortmund Municipal Clinics).
The time from the beginning of 2002 in the Clinic for Surgery, Trauma Surgery and the Center for Minimally Invasive Surgery (Chief Physician Prof. Dr. M.K. Walz (Evang. Huyssens-Stiftung, Kliniken-Essen-Mitte) meant the formation of a sound surgical basis.
From 2003, Dr. Schumann again followed the call of plastic surgery – to Hagen. Under head physician PD Dr. G. Erbs (Clinic for Plastic Surgery and Hand Surgery, St. Josefs Hospital Hagen), he enjoyed solid plastic surgery and hand surgery training to become a specialist. A move to Dr. Thiem’s trauma surgery department also enabled him to learn trauma surgery osteosynthesis techniques, among other things.
In mid-2006, while working in the department of PD Dr. Erbs, Dr. Schumann qualified as a specialist in plastic and aesthetic surgery.
