Well-defined cheekbones are a symbol of youth and health!
It is therefore not surprising that the demand for such corrections is constantly increasing. Both young people who want to optimize their face with a cheek correction and older people who want to rejuvenate sagging cheek contours are increasingly presenting at our clinic in Düsseldorf.

Special features of cheek surgery
From the gentle method of filler treatment to the use of cheek implants, we can shape your cheeks aesthetically in a variety of ways.
Thread lift
Cheek correction of the bony part of the cheek - as performed in Düsseldorf.
We can correct the bony part of the cheek with the help of cheek surgery or injections.
Filling the volume of the cheeks with fillers
This is not an operation, but an injection. The most commonly used filler is hyaluronic acid. However, other materials can also be used, such as fillers based on hydroxyapatite. This gel-like material breaks down completely after a while and therefore needs to be injected repeatedly by us to maintain the result. More viscous cross-linked hyaluronic acids last for over a year.
Cheek corrections with autologous fat at the Yuveo Clinic in Düsseldorf
If you would like the effects to last longer, but are reluctant to have your cheeks corrected with cheek implants, there is also the option of using your own fat. This has the advantage that it is not foreign tissue or material. This method is an alternative for patients who are not attracted to either hyaluronic acid or cheek implants.
The autologous fat injection begins with a small liposuction, i.e. a minor procedure. We filter the extracted fat and then inject it into the cheek.
Cheek augmentation with cheek implants
This is a cheek augmentation operation. It requires at least twilight sleep or, better still, general anesthesia. We make an incision in the mucous membrane on the inside of the mouth to prepare a pocket into which the cheek implant is inserted. Choosing the right implant is important, as there are different shapes, not all of which necessarily look good. Our Düsseldorf team will explain the details to you.
Frequently asked questions about cheek correction
Strong cheeks or hollow cheeks - what should you know?
In general, a distinction must be made between the bony part of the cheeks, whose shape is formed by the cheekbone (zygomatic bone, high arch), and the slightly deeper region, also known as the cheeks. The latter appear slim or thick depending on their fat content.
Prominent cheekbones and low cheeks with little fat content are generally perceived as attractive in Europe.
However, the cheeks of very slim people can also be too narrow and therefore appear sickly. These are then known as hollow cheeks or sunken cheeks.
Slender people with strong cheeks always appear much more corpulent than they are and therefore want cheek corrections.
How can you achieve an effect on the cheek contour with make-up?
If you don’t want to undergo surgery or injections, you can use make-up to change the contours of your cheeks.
The “Contour Highlight” in particular is ideal for this. Here, brightening (highlight) is placed on the cheekbones and darker skin tones (contour) are used underneath.
This creates the illusion of more prominent cheekbones.
Can a thread lift be used on the cheeks?
Thread lifting is a gentle, non-surgical procedure. It is able to reposition the sagging tissue of the cheek and thus refresh it. However, as with injections, the effect is of limited duration as the threads dissolve.
Who is interested in cheek reduction of the bony part?
In Asia, and particularly in Korea, there are people who have an overly pronounced zygomatic arch, which results in overly pronounced cheeks. These can then be corrected surgically by breaking the bone of the zygomatic arch and sinking it into the skull.
In contrast, in Germany it is usually a question of reducing the amount of fat in the cheeks.
How can "chubby cheeks" be treated?
If a reduction of the so-called chubby cheeks through diet no longer works because there are stubborn, usually inherited fat deposits, the possibility of surgery can be considered.
However, if you would like to have the cheek fat removed, you should know the following: Our Düsseldorf team of plastic surgeons can surgically remove the cheek fat plug, which is an important fat store in children. Sometimes, depending on the size of the cheek fat plug, this method is not sufficient, so we also perform liposuction on the cheeks. If the plug is very small, only cheek fat is removed.
How can severely sunken cheeks be injected?
Injecting heavily sunken cheeks makes sense if you want to have them corrected without surgery due to the greatly reduced fat.
In most cases, hyaluronic acid is then used at the Yuveo Clinic in Düsseldorf. If we want to achieve a result that lasts longer than the classic 12 months with cross-linked hyaluronic acid, we can also achieve an increase in volume with autologous fat injections.
When are cheek implants used?
Cheek augmentation with cheek implants is rarely performed in the soft tissue area of the ‘cheeks’, as there are few patients whose hollow cheeks are so pronounced that they opt for cheek implants.
However, it could be the right method if you are looking for a permanent solution without the need for autologous fat injections and annual injections
